CCMH, City of Norborne Reach Clinic Agreement

NORBORNE, Mo. – The City of Norborne is excited to move forward with the grant funds received to renovate the unoccupied space of Norborne Medical Clinic. After initial discussion, Scott Thoreson, Carroll County Memorial Hospital Chief Executive Officer, met with the Norborne City Council on Tuesday, October 11 to discuss the future of the building.

Monthly Trash Collection Increase

The City of Norborne, along with 7 other towns/cities are part of the Carroll County Solid Waste Agency. The Carroll County Solid Waste Agency recently renewed their contract with RTS for a three year service agreement for trash pick-up. The monthly rate will increase from $9.50 to $13.00 per month for residential trash collection. This new rate will be seen on residents January 2022 water bill.
RTS will accepts one bulk item per month, at the first pick-up of the month. No construction material will be accepted. Customers can call RTS for special requests of pick-up items. Each week, RTS will accept three large cans, or five trash bags for pick-up. If the amount exceeds the limit, there could be extra charges incurred.

Water Bills

Water bill due dates, and fees

Water meters are read on the first day of the month, and immediately loaded to the system and billed to costumers. Water bills are due by the 20th of every month, with penalties added on the 21st. If bills are not paid by the 1st of the following month water service will be disconnected and the customer will be charged a $25 disconnect fee. If the customer chooses to restore water, they will be charged a $25 reconnect fee. If a check or ACH withdrawal is returned to us for insufficient funds, customers will be charged a $35 chargeback fee. If water service is disconnected for lack of payment, and the bill is paid after 4PM. Water service will not be restored until the following business day.

Example
November 1st (First business day of the month), Meters will be read for October’s water usage.
November 2nd-3rd Water bills will be mailed.
November 20th Water bills are due.
November 21st Penalties added.
December 1st Water meters shut off for lack of payment.

We have several ways to pay water bills to make sure all payments are on time. You can mail in or take a check to City Hall, pay online at www.cityofnorborne.org, or sign up for automatic ACH withdrawals, by visiting Pam at City Hall.

Carroll County Collecting City Taxes

Octobers Water Bill will be delivered in an envelope with the letter below. The Letter has information about the Carroll County Collector-Treasures Office collecting City of Norborne Taxes beginning with the 2021 tax year.

Adopt a Park Program!

Are You, Your Family, or Your Organization looking for a way to
volunteer your time and make a difference? Individuals, Organizations,
Families and Businesses can now adopt one of our parks!
Here’s how it works:
 The Individual, Family, or Group leader should contact City Hall to discuss which park or project you would like to adopt.
 The Individual, Family, or Group commits to finishing all project’s started.
 At the end of the project or mowing season, all Individuals, Family Members, or Group’s will be recognized on the City of Norborne Facebook page, Website, and Norborne Newspaper.

Adoption projects to choose from:
 Mowing and weed eating of the City Park for the entire mowing season.
(Could be divided in two if multiple families, or organizations would like to adopt this park.)
 Mowing and weed eating of the Bell Park for the entire mowing season.
 Mowing and weed eating of the Gazebo park for the entire mowing season.
 Mowing and weed eating of the North Park for the entire mowing season.
 Painting the interior and exterior of the bathrooms at the City Park *Paint will be supplied
 Painting the interior and exterior of the bathrooms at the Bell Park *Paint will be supplied
 Painting the interior and exterior of the bathrooms at the North Park *Paint will be supplied
