Water bill due dates, and fees
Water meters are read on the first day of the month, and immediately loaded to the system and billed to costumers. Water bills are due by the 20th of every month, with penalties added on the 21st. If bills are not paid by the 1st of the following month water service will be disconnected and the customer will be charged a $25 disconnect fee. If the customer chooses to restore water, they will be charged a $25 reconnect fee. If a check or ACH withdrawal is returned to us for insufficient funds, customers will be charged a $35 chargeback fee. If water service is disconnected for lack of payment, and the bill is paid after 4PM. Water service will not be restored until the following business day.
Example
November 1st (First business day of the month), Meters will be read for October’s water usage.
November 2nd-3rd Water bills will be mailed.
November 20th Water bills are due.
November 21st Penalties added.
December 1st Water meters shut off for lack of payment.
We have several ways to pay water bills to make sure all payments are on time. You can mail in or take a check to City Hall, pay online at www.cityofnorborne.org, or sign up for automatic ACH withdrawals, by visiting Pam at City Hall.
